Building a Shared Future Through America 250 DeKalb
America 250 DeKalb is a community-wide initiative led by local organizations, residents, and partners throughout the City of DeKalb, Illinois. Together, we will mark America’s semiquincentennial with a full year of events, projects, stories, and celebrations that honor our past, reflect on our present, and imagine our shared future. From concerts and public art to educational programs and volunteer opportunities, 2026 will be a year to remember—and we invite everyone in DeKalb to take part.
At 250 years, America is still a young country—a work in progress toward its highest ideals. As we honor our past, we recommit ourselves to the promise of a more perfect union. We invite you to join us in continuing that progress and in helping to create the best future for all.
